$50,000 was earmarked in the production budget to be divided among the community artists for contributions included in the final song or special.

In addition, if an artist's contribution was included in the final song and the song was released commercially (for example as a single, on an album, or licensed to a third party), they participated in any music royalties that were standard to the music industry.

HITRECORD and Logic had designed a royalty structure with fairness toward the community as our primary and motivating factor. To understand how these royalties work you need to understand the difference between publishing royalties (which were paid for the use of a song or composition), and master royalties (which were paid for the use of a specific sound recording).

If you have any questions, please send us an email to support@hitrecord.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
