When HITRECORD delivered the finished music and visual assets to Ubisoft Montpellier, the HITRECORD team reviewed all the final pieces by hand and accounted for every single contribution and artist involved.
HITRECORD made an initial assessment of how much each artist should get for the part they played in making that song, or poster, etc. This assessment was posted publicly on the site, in what we call a 'Payment Proposal'.
When contributors were included in a Payment Proposal, they were emailed and notified on the site.
However, Payment Proposals are not the end of this payment process. After our proposals were posted publicly, there was a two-week window for the community to provide feedback on every Payment Proposal. Maybe someone thought they were left out, or someone thought they were making too much, or too little — anyone was able to post a comment that everyone else could see, and respond to.
The HITRECORD Community Team, led by @MattConley and @JenGerdano, reviewed and addressed every single concern raised. It was an open dialogue, and it was important to HITRECORD and Ubisoft that everyone had a chance to be a part of it.
After the two weeks were up, HITRECORD made all final decisions and the Final Payments were posted to the site.
Money was then paid out digitally through our payment facilitator, Hyperwallet. Everyone who was included in the Final Payments was e-mailed and notified on the site, with step-by-step instructions on how to collect their money through Hyperwallet.
This is the process we’ve used to decide community payment on every HITRECORD production for the past 8+ years. The most important thing to remember is that - as always - this process is open, transparent, public, and everyone has the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback along the way.
You can find the final payments agreed upon by the community RIGHT HERE.
